Background:
Built in 1973 on the fringe of the Offerton estate on the south-eastern side of Stockport, part of St Philip's parish. Subsequent extensions include two extra classrooms, ICT suite, new office/administration area, and an extended school hall, avaialable for community use, and for physical education and sport. Children raise funds for local charities. The school is popular with parents; inclusive. Broad curriculum includes comprehensive physical education programme. Before-school and after-school care by private provider who escorts the children to and from school. Over-subscribed, with 1.4 applications per place. DfES achievement award. Ethos: 'A Catholic primary school where children are expected to respect one another to recognise and value differences, and to strive to wokr together to make the school community a happy one'.
