Background:
Whitegate is a small village situated in rural Cheshire. At the heart of the village lies a village green bordered by Whitegate School and St Mary's Church. In May every year the village green becomes a focal point for the local community. The school offers a range of activities including table tennis, tennis, cricket, football, netball and rounders. There are drama workshops offered as well. It also has a strong tradition of folk dancing in school. Educational school visits are arranged throughout the school year to coincide with work being undertaken by children at the time.
