Background:
The school opened in 1961, since when the building was refurbished in 1989-90. The accommodation comprises seven classrooms, a nursery unit, a main hall with dining area, playing fields, a playground and gardens. The school is set in an urban area comprising both council and owner-occupied homes. The curriculum offered aims to 'promote the spiritual, moral and cultural development of all pupils' and to 'prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life'. Educational trips to museums and theatres are arranged when necessary, and the opportunity to go on a residential trip is offered to junior school pupils every year. Warwick employs a special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinator, who advises staff and works with small groups and individual children who require particular support.
