Background:

Located on the Dane Bank campus on the outskirts of Crewe, the school is housed in buildings dating from 1965, when it was originally established as a secondary modern school. Since then, there have been additions in 1975 and 1980 and some recent internal remodelling. The school was reorganised in 1978 as a comprehensive serving Catholics in south Cheshire, and pupils come from Crewe, Alsager, Sandbach and Nantwich. The school has a creative approach to religious education. Wide range of extra-curricular activities include football, netball, tennis, cross-country, rounders and choirs. Specialist mathematics and computing college status. Over-subscribed, with 1.2 applications per place. DfES achievement award (2003); training school status.
