Background:
Ravenbank is an old, well-established school which has served the community for a hundred years. It was originally Lymm Parochial School and became known as Ravenbank when the school moved to new buildings in 1968. It is situated in Lymm, 'within easy reach' of several motorways, Manchester, Chester and Liverpool. The school has a hall, kitchen, ten classrooms, including three mobile ones, a small library and two adminsitration offices. A new classroom and staffroom were completed this year. The school is 'reasonably well equipped' with at least one PC in each classroom as well as audio-visual equipment, technology tools etc. There are three 'large playgrounds and a large playing field'. The school emphasises that pupils should 'learn the basic skills, but should also play a full part in all school activities during and after the school day'. The school encourages parents to play an active role and there is a 'thriving' PTA.
