Background:
Oaklands Community Infant School was built in 1970. The school has excellent accommodation facilities with six teaching areas shared practical resource facilities. It also has a large hall, which is carpeted and is used for music, dance, physical education and assemblies. The surrounding include a pleasant outdoor areas with wide expanses of grass, a hard surface, adventure playground and a grass covered mound. During the school year the children will be involved in activities to enrich the curriculum. These include travelling theatre, speakers, artists or visits outside school to places of historical and scientific interest. The school aims to create a learning environment in which all children can develop an awareness of their own worth and indivdual potential.
