Background:
Founded in 1973, the semi-open plan school occupies a site shared with Stepping Stones private nursery. Its large playing fields are currently being developed into wildlife, garden and adventure play areas. In 1999, Longbarn won an Education Extra national award for extra-curricular activities. It holds courses for parents run by local colleges, which are both recreational and vocational and a free creche is also available. The school offers visit and recreational opportunities for all ages from Year 2 each year.
