Background:
Goostrey Community Primary School was founded in 1857 and has grown in size as the village has expanded. It is a split-site school with a junior and administrative block on main road and infants hall and extensive playing fields located 100m away. The school has international links with schools in South Africa. The school excels in teaching of ICT, mathematics, science and English. The school provides many after-school activities. Its football team competes in local primary league. It has achieved Schools Curriculum Award (2001) and DfES achievement award (2002). The school aims to develop the potential of all in an inclusive, safe and secure environment.
