Background:
Vine Tree Primary opened in 1971 on the outskirts of Crewe. The school's community links include shared celebration with the local churches, contact with other primaries, local and national charity work and visiting residential centres for the elderly. The children take part in extra-curricular activities such as sport, music and first aid, and the local Nationwide football club's community programme has forged 'good links' with the school. Vine Tree is oversubscribed and during recent years intake has expanded to such an extent that a new classroom was built in 1999.
