Background:
Shavington Primary is 'pleasantly' situated three miles south of Crewe and Nantwich. The school is set in 'spacious' grounds and outdoor facilities include a large playing field, two playgrounds, a nature area and pond. The school building is open-plan and organised into three units with two carpeted halls, 14 teaching bases, a library and two practical cookery areas. The school encourages children to play a musical instrument and tuition is available in brass, woodwind, violin and guitar. The school has several sports clubs, and the netball and football teams play in local competitions. Shavington has 'very strong' links with the community and a 'very active' school association which raises money for the school. 'We want Shavington Primary to be a learning community where education is viewed enthusiastically, a lifetime journey which has already started and which will continue way beyond the school'.
