Background:
Opened by current head in 1972, situated close to Northwich in the Hartford ward; 60 per cent of intake admitted from outside school's catchment area; over-subscribed, with about two applications per place. Offers attractive, safe environment; two computers in each room and networked internet access; a well-stocked library; tuition in musical instruments. A total of 10 different extra-curricular activities take place each week. 'Excellent' links with local church as well as the surrounding seven schools on the Hartford campus. Several charities are supported each year and pupils, staff and parents annually raise £8,000 for school funds. The school aims to create an atmosphere that is both warm and caring, whilst promoting high standards by forming the best possible relationships between teachers, children, parents and others involved.
