Background:
Werneth School is a secondary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 16. The original school buildings came into use in 1841, and several additions and extensions have been added over the years. There are extensive playing fields, a new all-weather pitch, two gymnasia, a sports hall, computing facilities and a well-stocked school library and resource centre. There are opportunities to play most instruments and to take part in activities involving band, orchestra and choirs. The school aims to provide a safe and pleasant environment for effective learning.
