Background:

The school building dates back to 1823 when it was first built for the apprentice workers at Quarry Bank Mill. The school is small with less than a hundred pupils on roll and the strong family like atmosphere is evident as soon as you walk through the door. The school makes excellent use of its beautiful school grounds, which include a private multi-sensory garden and wildlife area, shaded quiet areas and an outdoor keep-fit Trim Trail. The school aims to provide broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school provides a full and balanced curriculum, which encourages children to enjoy their learning and develop positive attitudes about themselves whilst caring for others.
