Founded in 1893; serves area mainly of terraced housing to north of Manchester Road; to south, 1970s estate of mainly council houses, with some owner-occupiers and old district of Howley, with mainly terraced housing; new housing development also in Howley. Single-storey building, except for two first-floor classrooms; buildings in good condition, but no playing field. Parental involvement evident in school. Integral part of Warrington Parish Church. Pupils' raised nearly £3,500 in 2005-2006, for Medequip 4 Kids, Children's Society, Cancer Research and NSPCC. Beacon status; DfES achievement award (2001, 2002).
