Oakfield Community Primary School is located in Widnes, reached from Edinburgh Road or Coronet Avenue. The school was opened in 2001 and is a two-form entry primary school. There are 16 classrooms accommodating the nursery class, 12 mainstream classes and three designated classes. The school has two large assembly halls, two small teaching rooms for group work and two libraries. The school also has two ICT suites serving both the infant and junior departments. The school takes an active part in the area's sports fixtures and its extra-curricular activities include football, netball, gym club, micro club, young engineers club, recorders, athletics and rugby in season.
