Background:
Mellor Primary School was originally housed in a building dating from 1880, which was situated about a mile away from the new school which opened in 1995. They have access to 'well stocked' fiction and non-fiction libraries, as well as networked computers with Internet access. Daily work is broadened through educational visits and residential trips for years 5 and 6. Extra-curricular activities include sports, skipping, calligraphy and recorder and clarinet tuition. Parents are 'very supportive' of the school and involved in their children's education. Mellor Primary School has a caring, family atmosphere where individual is highly valued.
