Background:
Guilden Sutton School came into existence in 1882, its first home being a building next to the present St John's Church. In 1891 a new school and a master's house were built on a site in School Lane. When the village expanded in the early 1970's, five mobile classrooms. This school was closed on 21 December 1989, and its new school in Arrowcroft Road opened on January 10th, 1990. It consists of seven teaching rooms, music/library room, hall, cookery area, administration area and staff room, kitchen, play areas, courtyard and playing field. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: football, netball, hockey, basketball, rugby and orchestra. It provides lunchtime and after-school activities to enhance learning.
