                         Background:
St. Winefride's is a one form entry, co-educational school. It is situated in extensive and pleasantly landscaped grounds close to the centre of Neston and serves the Parish of St. Winefride's, although pupils are admitted from neighbouring areas. The school was built in two phases: the younger children are taught in three large, self-contained rooms which, together with the school office and library, was completed in 1967. The second phase, for our older children, consisting of three large teaching areas, art and craft areas, school hall and kitchen, playing fields and play yards, was completed in 1974. A dedicated I.C.T. Suite was opened in the summer 2002.The school'seeks to promote Catholic education by encouraging parents to send their children, at the age of eleven, to our designated Catholic High School in Chester, (The Local Authority provides free transport to Chester.) Parents also send their children to independent Catholic schools. 'A family-centred school with a strong Christian ethos'.
