Background:

Opened in 1960 to serve the parish of St Bede's, Weaverham, a semi-rural area close to Northwich; six classrooms and extensive grounds, including environmental areas. Religious education is 'very important core subject'; arts and physical education are also improtant. The school offers music tuition in a range of instruments: recorder, guitar, violin and woodwind. Pupils have participated in many events including a Suzuki concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London; participates in School Proms at Royal Albert Hall. The range of sports and games includes swimming and judo; extra-curricular activities available include girls' and boys' football and netball. French and Italian taught throughout the school. Outdoor education at centre in Lake District for Years 5 and 6. School fully involved in local community; children contribute to Weaverham Annual Show; substantial funds raised for charity. Before-school care, from 8am; after-school, until 6pm. Artsmark Silver (2002, 2005); DfES achievement award (2002).
