Background:

Cheadle Catholic Junior School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. It serves the parishes of Christ Church, St Chad's, St Ann and parts of St John's and of St Vincent's and representatives from those parishes, the foundation governors, are involved in the overall management of the school. The school has 12 classrooms and teaching groups have traditionally been organised by age. The original 1967 building of seven classrooms, multi-use hall, cloakrooms, kitchen and administration area, was added to in 1987 with the construction of three classrooms. The school offers a wide range of activities to the children both during and after-school day. The school is involved in inter-school competitions for netball, football and cross-country running and for rounders and athletics. All pupils take part each year in the swimming programme at Cheadle Baths. Chess club and science club are also offered after-school.
