Background:
Victoria Community Technology School is a mixed medium-sized comprehensive, of around 720 pupils, catering for the 11-16 age range. The school has two libraries one for upper and one for lower school. Both provide CD ROMs and ICT facilities. The Meredith library also contains a large careers library. The school day starts regularly with an act of collective worship, which must by law be wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian nature. Victoria pupils also have the opportunity each year to take part in a wide variety of out-of-school visits and excursions. The physical education department at Victoria aims to provide for every boy and girl the opportunity to experience and enjoy a wide range of physical activities. The school is one of the first to be awarded Charter mark status by the football association. The school encourages all its students to make the most of their talents and abilities in an atmosphere of tolerance, respect and consideration.
