Background:

Lindow School was opened in September 1970. It is situated at the end of a country lane, surrounded by playing fields and open countryside. The building offers a bright and adaptable teaching environment, with semi-open plan, carpeted classrooms opening onto practical areas. The hall is spacious and is used for assemblies, physical activity lessons, concerts, social events and dining facilities. Outside there is a large hard surface play area, two large playing fields, interesting wild areas and more formal gardens and activity areas. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These include drama, chess, gardening, science, ICT and book clubs, cross-country running and tag-rugby. The school also offers weekly football and netball training and matches are arranged with local teams. Lessons in cello, violin, flute and guitar can be arranged with specialist tutors and Lindow has a choir, orchestra and recorder group. The school aims to create and maintain a safe and stimulating environment, which is rich in enjoyable learning experiences.
