Background:

Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College was developed in 1979 from mixed secondary modern. Facilities of the school include assembly hall, dining room, eight science laboratories, five computing rooms, technology suite, art suite and gallery, music suite, drama, dance studio and learning resource centre. All classrooms have access to the school's computer network with each room having at least one computer. The sixth form has access to its own facilities including common room, dining room with own kitchen, video conference and computer facilities and classrooms. Its Playing fields are next to the school including new synthetic pitch, hard tennis courts, joint-use swimming pool, sports hall and squash courts. Music is strength of the school in addition to an orchestra, various school choirs, and folk group and concert band and string groups. Sporting strengths include athletics, hockey, netball, volleyball, cross-country, tennis and football. The school encourages positive attitudes and aims to provide an environment in which all girls feel valued, challenged and secure and where they can acquire the skills and confidence, which will serve them throughout their lives.
