Background:
Mill View is a one-form entry primary school. It is situated in the suburban area of Upton-by-Chester, just outside the main city, and stands in its own grounds of approximately five acres. The accommodation comprises of seven classrooms, a computer suite, a music room, a computerised resource and reference library, a multi-purpose hall and a self-contained canteen. There are extensive playing fields and a hard-surface play area. The school draws pupils from a wide area, both within and outside its catchment area. the school has strong links with parents and the local community. At secondary school stage, the majority of pupils transfer to Upton High School. The school offers a variety of after-school clubs at different times of the year, including football, netball, rounders, basket ball, short tennis, French, recorders, sewing, board games and choir. Each year the school raises funds for Comic Relief and one selected charity. The school also supports the Operation Christmas Child, which involves its pupil filling shoeboxes with small Christmas presents. The school aims to provide a happy, stable and stimulating environment where every facility is available for the all-round development of the child.
