Background:
High Legh is a successful village school catering to children between the ages of four-11 years of age. The school is situated in the rural borough of macclesfield, 8 miles South East of Warrington, near to the village of Lymm and the markets town of knutsford and Altrincham. The school is close to Manchester Airport, which is about 15 minutes drive away and the M6 and M56 motorways, which are within two miles. The school building was built in 1967 and was updated in 1994, which has considerably improved the design of the front façade and the result is an attractive building. The school has security fencing, a CCTV system and a security locking to all external doors. Inside, there are five traditional designed, spacious classrooms and two areas which have been opened out to provide flexibility with regard to teaching and learning. The school is proud of its extensive and attractive school grounds. There are woodland areas, gardens and a courtyard area with pond and flower tubs. The playground provides opportunities for both quite play and for more energetic activities.
