Background:
Stanney High School is a smaller than average mixed comprehensive school. Over the last two years the school has improved its facilities tremendously. These include new windows at the back of the school, new sports hall floor, new synthetic athletics track, new design room, three new ICT rooms, new ICT networking, assembly hall equipped with new furniture as well as new lighting and sound systems for music and drama. The school provides a rich and varied programme of extra-curricular activities and clubs which include athletics, badminton, basketball, chess club, computer, cricket, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, fishing, gymnastics, hockey, language club, tennis, trampolining, volleyball, netball, soccer and many more. Drama, music and art classes are also available. The school has achieved Sports College status for September 2004. The school aims to provide a truly caring and supportive system to encourage students to achieve success.
