Background:
The school opened in 1954 and occupies a building with a mixture of double and single storey design with nine classrooms, two well-stocked libraries, a computer room and a spacious community room. A second hall and spacious nursery accommodation have since been added. Some redecoration and refurbishment took place recently and further improvements are planned. The school occupies a large area with extensive grounds offering two hard standing play areas and a large playing field. Extra-curricular activities include needlework, football, netball, judo, chess, performing arts, computers, short tennis and unihoc. A breakfast club runs every morning between 8am and 8.45am. 'All the staff at Broomwood aim to provide a stimulating and happy learning environment in which children are seen as individuals and given the opportunity to develop their full potential'.
