Background:
Boughton Heath County Primary School was opened in 1975 in a new open-plan purpose-built primary school in its own grounds in suburban Chester; grounds include spacious playing fields and attractive shrubbed areas. Good parental links, which include academic liaisons, fundraising and social activities. Residential curriculum-based visits are a feature and are run annually from Year 2 to Year 6, with older pupils experiencing humanities and arts-based work in Snowdonia and Northumbria. Extra-curricular activities are well supported at Key Stage 2 and include wide range of arts and sports-based clubs, including chess and tennis. Excellent reputation for the visual arts; featured in a number of publications, including the Ofsted publication 'The Arts Inspected' (1998). Artsmark (2004).
