Background:

Lower Peover CofE Primary School was founded in 1710 by Richard Comberbach with a new school built next to the original site following the Education Act of 1870. Three further extensions have been added to the Grade II listed building. The school'stands with the church and the Bells of Peover Inn on the banks of Peover Eye at the top of a cobbled lane. It is set in beautiful grounds with woodland and wildlife areas and a landscaped pond, which enables extensive research. There are very close links with the church and many local groups. Children play football, netball and athletics and a professional footballer gives his time to coach them. Music holds high status within the school. Instruments on offer are: flute, saxophone, keyboard, recorder, guitar and brass. The school has choir which sings in church and at the Men Arena. The school offers charity fund raising on a yearly basis. The Christian ethos of the church is maintained through regular services in church and respect from staff and children. The school is very quiet with a sense of purpose and direction for all.
