Background:
Broomfields Junior School is a four-form entry co-educational junior school for children between the ages of seven to 11. It is situated attractively on Bridge Lane in Appleton, which is an extremely pleasant area on the south side of Warrington. The school enjoys fine views across the adjacent countryside. The school was opened in 1970 and is a bright, spacious and extremely well maintained building. It comprises 16 classrooms, six bay areas, two spacious halls, administrative offices, staffroom and catering centre. Outside are extremely spacious playing fields, playground, patio area, children's play equipment, school pond and adjacent woodland areas. There are regular football, rugby and netball fixtures with other schools. It has a cross-country club (from which children are chosen to take part in inter-school races), gymnastics club, rounders club and a cricket club. The school aims to enable every child to reach his or her potential in a caring and supportive environment.
